Served in the Revolutionary War

On February 17, 1794, Seth Paine left his native country with his wife, his sister, six daughters and five sons. Beers History of Herkimer County, pg. 183 (1879), tells of Seth Paine’s arrival in the township of German Flats, where he was the first settler of Paines Hollow, and of this having thirteen days in coming with his cattle and other impediments. These histories do not state where in Windham County, CT, he came from.
